The Spiritualist Church of Salmon Arm was founded by Rose/Norm Russel and Peter/Lorraine Sawchuk in the late 90’s. On August 3rd, 1997, the first service was held in Salmon Arm. For full details on the beginning of the church, please visit In Memory.
The Spiritualist Church of Salmon Arm is dedicated to studying our Spirituality and how it affects our lives. A part of this study involves understanding the nature of spirit, exploration of spheres of existence, and extrasensory perceptions on all levels. Because of this study our Sunday Services includes messages, and our Ministers are also Mediums. Our Ministers practice Spirituality as a way of life and provide ministry based on that practice. Please visit the Ministers page to become familiar with our Ministers
Our Church follows the Seven Principles of Spirituality. The original Seven Principles was brought through by Emma Hardinge Britten 30th April 1871. At the time, the language used was current; since then, many churches have kept the seven principles yet updated the language to suit our times.
The Spiritualist Church of Salmon Arm Seven principles:
1. The presence of a Universal force.
2. The acceptance of the equality of all people
3. Communication with Spirit and the Ministrations of Angels
4. The continual existence of all souls
5. Personal responsibility
6. Redress for all deeds done on Earth
7. Eternal progress open to all souls.
The accompanying excerpt from God’s Natural Laws encapsulates our beliefs and practices and is provided to help give a deeper understanding of who we are as a congregation.
